Woodrow Burton was born 11 September 1918 in Quincy, Illinois.

He was a Captain with the U. S. Air Force.

The notes in this record state that Captain Burton was hit with direct fire on 2 October 1950. He bailed out of his plane 4 miles northeast of Pyongyang in North Korea. He was listed MIA. He was listed as presumed dead on 31 December 1954.

"For his leadership and valor, Captain Burton was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal."
