Harriett (nee Killian) Gross, age 88, of Tonawanda, died Thursday, November 18, 2004, at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born February 18, 1916, in Pendleton, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary (nee Boyer) Killian and had been a lifelong resident of the Tonawandas. She was employed as an inspector at Remington Rand Company in North Tonawanda before retiring in 1978. Mrs. Gross was a member of Friedens (Peace) United Church of Christ and the Women's Guild at the church. An avid bingo player, she always enjoyed being with family and friends. She was the wife of the late Peter E. Gross, who died in 1981, and sister of the late Verna Martin, Ruth Bach and Winifred Wankosky.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, loving family and friends.
Friends may call from 2-8 PM Friday only at the Hamp Funeral Home, Inc., Adam and Seymour Streets, Tonawanda. Interment and services will be cared for privately at Elmlawn Cemetery, Town of Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Friedens (Peace) United Church of Christ, 1280 North French Road, West Amherst, NY 14228, are preferred.
In addition to the three sister's listed in her obituary Harriett Killian Gross was also preceded in death by three brothers; Warren Martin Killian, Calvin Henry Killian and Emmett Fredrick Killian.
