Daina Skadmane was born on March 19, 1990 to Janis and Zinta Skadmanis. She was the sibling of Ruta, Maija, Marcis Liors, and her twin sister Anda.

Daina was an esteemed and extremely talented artist, especially in painting and lithography. She contributed to the Christmas-themed "Vēja egle" artwork, which was exhibited in Kronvalds Park, Riga. She also exhibited her art in the UK, USA, Israel, Russia, Czech Republic and Germany.

Daina and her father were victims of the Zolitude shopping mall roof collapse on November 21, 2013 in Riga, which killed 54 people. Daina was the youngest victm.

She was buried at the Riga cemetery Meža kapi on December 6, 2013.
