On November 17th of 2016 the city of Wichita lost an angel and the shattering effect that the reality of that day is still felt today. The name of that angel was Laura and she is still missed. Laura was a kind soul, the type that you couldn't find anybody that had a bad word to say about her. She was a real people person. Beyond that she wasn't just a people lover she was a life lover. The first time she encountered snow was in her adulthood. She ran out, in shorts mind you, and frolicked like she was a 5 year old girl in a field of flowers. This is a woman that had two jobs and was the type of worker that always put the team first. The employee that had accumulated weeks of unused vacation times from fear of letting the team down. The person that worked all the way to a week before giving birth to her first child, Sophia. Her ambitions for the future didn't just lie in her work she was also enrolled in college and working towards a degree. In the end the things that made her so great would lead to her placing trust into the wrong individual who cut this budding stars life short. Fortunately the assailant had been captured and Sophia was returned to the father. On November 30th family, friends, and those who knew how truly special she was were able to lay this spirit to rest. The love for Laura was so great the residual effect she had was so great it was enough to gain peoples support which would carry her family to the next chapter of their life. She is survived by her daughter, 3 brothers, 1 sister and mother who is quick to tell you a story of her lovely daughter. Her memory will live on.
