Mrs. Frances Jolly Lawson, age 97, widow of Fred “Racket” Lawson, formerly of Monarch, passed away January 14, 2021 at Ellen Sagar Nursing Home.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Union, December 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Roy and Bessie Alexander Jolly. She retired after 46 years with Milliken and Co., Monarch Plant and was a faithful member of Morningside Baptist Church. Mrs. Lawson loved her church and had served in various capacities within the church.

Surviving are a daughter, Judy Lawson, of the home; a sister, Nancy J. O’Dell of Union; two grandchildren, Leslie Mages and husband Kevin of Boiling Springs and B.J. Franklin and wife Catie of Sharon; great-grandchildren, Jordi Mages and husband Nick, Seth Franklin, Caitlin Franklin, and Abigail Franklin; great-great-grandchildren are Jase and Lydia Fowler; and several nieces and nephew including a special nephew, Billy Beheler of Union. Mrs. Lawson was predeceased by a brother, Bill Jolly.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 17, 2021 at Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Andrew Austin. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM Sunday at the church prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Morningside Baptist Church, 112 Bates Ave., Union, SC 29379.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, Judy Lawson, 1106 S. Jonesville Hwy., Jonesville, SC 29353.
