She was a member of Blue Mountain Church of God, where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class and attended Welty Church of the Brethren. Hazel was employed over the years by Waynesboro Knitting Mill of Waynesboro, Pa., Doubleday Book Binding Co. of Smithsburg, Md., and Coffman Nursing Home of Hagerstown, Md.
Hazel is survived by daughter, Jeanie Jean Kettoman; sons, Barry O. Swope Jr., Donald L. Swope, and Ronald L. Swope; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mildred Rohrer, Frances McElroy and Jane McClanathan; two half sisters, Helen High and Missouri Bragunier; and three brothers, Richard Guessford, David Guessford and Joseph Guessford.
Services will be held at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
