Samuel Claude DuVal, fourth son of Lucius Claiborne (1789-1845) and Tabitha Adams Russell DuVal (1796-1862) was born March 8, 1832, in Morganfield, Ky. He lived in Dublin, Tex. He married in 1879, Mildred A. Windham (1842-1904), daughter of William and Eliza Reese Windham, of Octibbeha County, Ms. Their children were Pearl Ann (1880-c1905), Cordelia (1881-1964), and Henry Edward DuVal (1884-1918).

Cordelia DuVal (1881-1964) married in 1905, William Sorney Baker (c1880-), of Garretts Bluff. They were living in Ft. Worth, Tx. in 1930 and 1940 where he was salesman for companies. Their children were Weldon Stanley (1906-84), and Don S. (William Don) Baker (1923-84). Weldon Stanley Baker (1906-84) lived in McAllen, Tx and Long Beach, Cal. He married (1) Elynor M. Hamilton (c1914-), daughter of ___ and Mary P. Hamilton (c1893-). Two children were Carol Ann and Weldon S. Baker, Jr. He married (2) in 1981, Cynthia L. Love (c1907-).

Samuel Claude DuVal in 1900 and his wife Mildred A. Windham on March 10, 1904 both died in Dublin, Tx.
