He was born on November 7, 1926 in Bandera, Texas to parents: Christian and Emma T. (Kunz) Jenschke.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his parents; two sisters and six brothers, including his twin which made him the eldest surviving male in his family.. He is survived by three daughters, four grandchildren, and two sisters.
Gilbert was an U.S. Army vetern. He retired from civil service in Management Services at Davis-Monthan AFB in Tucson, AZ. He was a master woodworker, working on anything from helicopter rotor blades to antique furniture.
He was a member of Mary, Help of Christians Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus where he was a 4th Degree Knight and a past Charter Grand Knight.
