MRS. ROACH SUCCUMBS
Mrs. Clara Roach, Stolley Park Road, Widow of Fred I. Roach and a resident of Grand Island for more than 47 years, died Tuesday.
Mrs. Roach was a life long resident of Nebraska.
She was born March 17, 1893 at Sargent, to Theodore and Rachell Kerr Hohman.
Mr. and Mrs.Roach were married Dec. 1, 1908 at Taylor. They made their home in the Sargent community until they came to Grand Island in 1917.
Mr Roach, [was] an employee of the Union Pacific railroad. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by five sons, Harold, Boelus; Vern, Holdrege; Robert, Lamirade, Cal.;Jack, Grand Island and Lee Hollywood; six daughters, Mrs. Lucille Ward, Henderson; Mrs. Ernest Dahlke and Mrs. Jay Burmoon, Grand Island, and Mrs. Donald Hodtwalker, Chapman; two brothers Hess Hihlman*, Ansley and Kermit Hohlman, Witchita Kan; four sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Hileman, Mrs. Nettie Becker and Mrs. John Roach, Grand Island and Mrs. Ada Clanton of Columbus; fifty-two grandchildren and thirty-three great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3 pm Friday at Livinston-Sondermann funeral home.The Rev. Dr. John Shell will conduct the services.
Interment will be in Grand Island Cemetery.
At the request of the family there will be no visitation.

Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Roach were held Friday afternoon in the chapel of the Livingston-Sondermann funeral home with Fr. John Shall, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Pallbearers were Cecil Dahlman, Ercel Schoel, Fred Packard, Ted Beilfeldt and Forest Huston.
Interment was in Grand island Cemetery.

Also note: Marriage date appears to be wrong in obituary above. Records suggest that Clara B. Hohman and Fred Issac [sic] Roach were married at Taylor, Loup, Nebraska on Dec. 31 1908. They lived first at Sargent and later at Corning, Iowa. After Mr. Roach accepted employment with a structural steel company, the family lived in various Nebraska communities. They came to Grand Island in 1917, where Mr. Roach then entered the service of Union Pacific Railroad.
They had seven sons and six daughters. As of 1950 the names and residences of their living children were: Harold and Fred Jr., Grand Island, Vern, Holdrege, Sgt. Robert, Tacoma, Wash., Naval Journalist 2/c Lee E., San Juan, Puerto Rico and Jack at home; six daughters, Mrs. Lee Ward and Mrs. Ernet Dahlke, Grand Island, Mrs. George Warrell Jr., Burley, Cassia, ID,. Mrs. Clyde Henning, Loup City, Mrs. B.J. Ainley, Kansas City, Kansas and Joyce at home.
