Sister Odila Diedrich, S.D.S., 73, died Sunday, June 10, after a lengthy illness.

She was born Loretta Diedrich on May 31, 1911, at Hillbert.

She entered the congregation on September 1, 1928 at Milwaukee. She professed her first vows on August 13, 1930 and was perpetually professed on August 13, 1936 at St. Mary’s Convent in Milwaukee.

Sister Odila attended the Marquette University College of Nursing and received her R.N. degree with specialization in Anesthesia. She ministered in the area of anesthesiology in Portage, Wausau and West Bend. She was Director of the School of Anesthesia in Wausau from 19**-*4.

Sister Odila served as a missionary for one year in Ceylon (now known as Sri Lanka).

In 1958, she went to St. Mary’s Convent where she served as accountant and then as a housekeeper in the priest department until 1973. She became a patient at St. Mary’s Nursing Home as her health failed and spent the last five years at Salvatorian Heights.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Mary Marx, and Sister Mary Carol Juckem, S.D.S, is one of the many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who survive her.

A Mass of Christian burial was held June 12th at St. Mary’s Nursing Home Chapel. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Milwaukee.
