Walter C. "Abbie" Myers, 72, of Clarion, died early Wednesday, Feb. 15, 1978 at his home.
Born Aug. 1, 1905, in Clarion, he was the son of the late James C. and Margaret Smith Myers. He was married to the former Myrtle Conner, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Myers was a retired foreman for Owens-Illinois Inc., Clarion plant, where he had worked for 45 years. He was a selecting department foreman at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the O-I Quarter Century Club and the Golden Emblem Club. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Clarion.
Surviving are his step-mother, Mrs. Mary Myers of Clarion; eight sisters, Mrs. Francis (Margaret) Kern of Waukegan, Ill., Mrs. Vincent (Betty) Zacherl of Atlanta, GA., Mrs. Clyde (Nell) Basinger, Miss Dora Nevada Myers, Mrs. Gervase (Mary) Wolbert, Mrs. Lorena (June) Young and Mrs. Frances A. Ganoe, all of Clarion; and Mrs. Robert (Delores) Croyle of Rimersburg, and one brother, William J. of Pittsburgh.
One brother preceded him in death.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday from the Robert Burns Funeral Home of Clarion with the Rev. James Moser officiating. Burial was in the Clarion Cemetery.
