He was born in Sidney July 19,1928,to Covert and Ethel LaChet,Shoffner.On Feb.17,1951,he married the former Irene Partington,who survives.Other survivors include a Son,William,and daughter,Vickie Hinkle,Both of Piqua;eight grandchildren;four great-grandchildren;three brothers,Junior and Donald of Covington;and Robert od Bradford;Two Sisters;Edith Bretz of Bradford and Delores Dishon Of California; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by one brother and two sisters.
Mr.Shoffner was a truck driver for the former Val Decker Packing Co. in Piqua for 29 years.He worked 10yeards at the American Legion in Piqua and Worked Part-time at Mabbitt's Carry out and the Piqua Country Club.
A World War II U.s.Navy Veteran,he belong to Moose Lodge No.1067 of Piqua,Fraternal Order of theEagles No.614 of Piqua,Veteran of Foreign War Post 4235 ofCovington and the Tri Village ColorGuard of Covington.
He was Past commander and a member of AMVETS Post no.66 and its Sad Sack Organization inCovingyon.Mr.Shoffner was past Commander ana a member ofAmerican Legion Post 184 of Piqua and its 49&8 Club.
Funeral service Services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Jamieson and Yanucci Funeral Home with Miami County Hospice Chaplain Roses Coughlin Officiating.Buiral will following at Miami Memorial Park,Covington.Vistationm will be Sunday from1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.A Covington AMVETS service is set for Sunday 3:30 p.m
