The Rev. J. Paul Alvey, age 79, of Pocahontas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2006, in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas, Iowa, with the Priests of Sioux City Diocese officiating. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery in Pocahontas, IA. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5, at the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church in Pocahontas. There will be a Parish Rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m., both Friday, Jan. 5 at the church. Powers Funeral Home in Pocahontas, Iowa, is handling arrangements.
