Margaretta was the 3rd of 12 children of of Daniel Kepple and Elizabeth Yerian of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. She was baptized in Greensburg Lutheran Church on December 4, 1797, sponsors Daniel and Margaretha Perry.
She married Alexander Hanna/Hannah on June 24, 1824. He died in 1834 from cramps resulting from drinking cold water after fighting fire.
Margaret appears in the 1850 census of Allegheny Township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. She appears to have 2 children, Elizabeth 26 and Jemima 19 living with her.
