Henry Arthur Drewry Sr., 72, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, November 7, 1996.
He was a past member of Daleville Ruritan Club, a member of New Castle United Methodist Church, and Boilermakers Union Local #314 AFL-CIO. He retired from Lone Star Cement Inc. after 33 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Robert and Annie Hannah Drewry; sister, Betty Lee Allen; brother, Harold E. Drewry.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Lee Drewry; daughter, Sharon Drewry Hale; son, Henry Arthur Drewry Jr.; granddaughters, Monica A. Barton, Tammy Drewry Rock, Buffy Lee Wood, Jessica Faye Wood; grandsons, Eric Douglas Drewry, John Hutton Reed Jr. (Jacky); great-granddaughters, Samantha Marie Barton, Sydney Danielle Barton, Tamara Cheyenne Rock; great-grandsons, Neil Jordon Drewry, Markus Andrew Arthur Reed; sisters, Evelyn Kirkman, Geraldine Gibson, Juanita Dooley, Connie Kurz, Judy Smith; brother, Gary Drewry; numerous sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral Home Chapel, New Castle, with The Rev. Charles L. Ammons and The Rev. Reggie Kirkman officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the New Castle United Methodist Church.
