Milford K. F. Mahnke, 91, of Oakland died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at Oakland Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Elkhorn Township, rural Beemer in Cuming County, to William and Barbara (Raasch) Mahnke.
He attended Immanuel Lutheran School through eighth grade.
He married Leota Kuester on Jan. 22, 1940, in Beemer. They farmed in the Oakland-Craig area until retiring in 1981, when they moved into Oakwood Apartments in Oakland.
His wife died Nov. 14, 1997.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Lyons.
He also was active at Golden Oaks Senior Center.
Survivors include: a daughter, Marvelyn (and husband, Denny) Spangler of Fremont; two sons, Lyle (and wife, Joyce) Mahnke of Hooper and Ray (and wife, Trudy) Mahnke of West Point; a brother, Orland Mahnke of Omaha; a sister, Elvira Toelle of Scribner; special friend, Evelyn Rennerfeldt of Oakland; 17 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, a brother and a sister.
The funeral was this morning at St. John's Lutheran Church in rural Lyons with the Rev. Mark Eldal officiating.
Burial was in Oakland Cemetery.
