Jack "Red" Auxier, 83, of Chillicothe, died at 2:07 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. He was born on March 20, 1933 in Paintsville KY, the son of the late Dick and Sarah Stapleton Auxier. On August 28, 1954, he married the former Elsie Ramey who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Judy (Ron) Hagerty of Frankfort, Shirley (Robert) Sever of Washington C.H., four grandchildren, Amy (Nick) McDonald, Jason (Susan) Sever, Mike (Abbie) Hagerty, Jackie (Luke) James, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is also survived by five brothers and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Auxier, great-grandson, Jacob, four sisters and two brothers.

Red enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren. He loved hunting and fishing, feeding and watching the birds, and his dog, Sam. Jack worked for many years in highway construction.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends may call on the Auxier family at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.
