Russell Auxier, age 75 of East Point, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Highlands ARH Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. Born May 5, 1947 in Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Dick Auxier and Sarah Stapleton Auxier. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers: Jack Auxier, Clarence Auxier, and Ray Auxier; and four sisters: Rosella Auxier, Mary Smallwood, Doris Stewart, and Mable Williams.
Russell is survived by his lifelong companion, Della Ruth Auxier of Hager Hill, Kentucky; three sons: James Michael Auxier of Hager Hill, Kentucky, Jason Patrick Auxier and wife, Lorna of Hager Hill, Kentucky, Russell Lee Auxier of East Point, Kentucky; four brothers: Doug Auxier and wife, Earnestine of Salyersville, Kentucky, Harold Auxier and wife, Shirley of Hager Hill, Kentucky, Martin Auxier and wife, Glenna of Riceville, Kentucky, Pete Auxier and wife, Ruby of Hager Hill, Kentucky; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren; a special friend, Mark Greene of East Point, Kentucky. Numerous family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Tuesday, May 10, 2022 in the chapel of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Greene Family Cemetery at East Point, Kentucky. Arthur Scarberry and Doug Auxier will officiate. Friends may visit at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Monday from 6:00-9:00pm and on Tuesday after 9:00am until time of services at 2:00pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Phelps & Son Funeral Home.
