{14 Jan 2017, Revised 14 May 2021: Biography of Solomon by Grant Collar, b.1931. My_father, Grant Sr (1901-1978) was a first cousin of Minnie Jane PIERSOL Arbogast (1883-1954) who married Asa S. "Ace" ARBOGAST Sr (1879-1952) near Ritter, Grant County, Oregon where she and my father were born. While photographing Piersol and Arbogast relative's tombstones in Mountain View Cemetery, Walla Walla, Washington, I_included Bishop Arbogast's stone, not knowing how he related. I finally researched Bishop and found his father Solomon, mother Mary, and their history back to his great grandfather German immigrant, Michael Arbogast (1734-1812).

Solomon Arbogast, b: 1804 Virginia (probably Augusta County - some of which became Pocahontas County, West Virginia in 1863 and probably near Crabbottom, which is now Blue Grass, Highland County, Virginia), d:_1870 , but before the 11_Jun_1870_Census of Roundhead, Hardin County, Ohio.

He was enumerated in 1850 Census of Roundhead, Roundhead Twp, Hardin County, Ohio - as Solaman (sic) Arbogast. He was enumerated in McDonald Twp, Hardin County in 1860 Census, as Solomon Arbegart (sic). He was absent from 11_Jun_1870_Census and his wife, Mary, was head of household. He had married 30 Oct 1834 Champaign County, Ohio to Mary BARRINGTON, b: 1809 Virginia (per Probate Court death record), d:_25_Nov_1878 Roundhead of tuberculosis.

Their burials were unknown to this writer, but some of their children of the 1850-1870 censuses were buried Roundhead Cemetery, Roundhead (15 Arbogast burials in Find A Grave in Oct 2016). Therefore, the parents were probably buried there also - since that was where they were living.
