Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 28, 1998, at
St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Rev. David Scherbarth will
officiate with burial to follow at Pioneer Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.
He was born Janaury 25, 1914, in Two Rivers, son of the late Herman and
Anna Jindra Stoer. He attended St. John's Parochial School and was a
graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers. On June 12, 1937, he
married Elaine Hansen at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Mishicot. Rev.
Edward Zell presided. She preceded him in death on January 10, 1993. Bud
was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as
a church money counter, a former church council member, and a member of
the Congregational Life Committee, and the Lutheran Mens Club. He was
also a member of the YMCA, Two Rivers Senior Citizens, the Turkey Group,
IAM Union Member and an active member of the Two River Silver K Club of
which he served as its immediate past president. From 1952 to 1967, Bud
served as a member of the Vocational School Board (the longest length of
service of any member). He was employed for a short time with the Mirro
Company and the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company as a tool and die maker
before becoming employed with the Metal Ware Corporation for many years
until his retirement in 1979. Bud enjoyed playing golf, swimming and
bowling, but extremely enjoyed the company of his family, especially his
grandchildren.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Diane Stoer,
Shakoppe, Minn.; four grandchildren, Natelie, Ryan, and Michael Stoer,
Jeremy Foytik; one brother, Ken Stoer, Ripon; two nieces, Loma Gaulke
and Sharon Evensen. Besides his parents, and his wife, he was preceded
in death by one sister-in-law, Helen Stoer.
Friends may call at the Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers,
from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday (TONIGHT), and at the church on Wednesday after 12
noon until the time of service at 1 p.m.
