Walter Carl Caldwell, Jr., age 97, a resident of Irving, died Thursday, December 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Born October 27, 1917 in Cherryvale, Kansas, he was the son of Walter C. Caldwell, Sr. and Iva Stephens Caldwell. A machinist for Sun Oil Company in Richardson for 30 years, he was a long-time resident of Irving. Preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn in 2010, two sons, Bill and Tom, and a grandson, Kelly Jo Caldwell, he is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Lawrence of Irving and Marilyn Berlin and husband Harry of Garland; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Elva Fowler, Mary Hannigan and Pat Hoge; brothers, Bob Caldwell, Jim Caldwell and Jerry Caldwell. A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens, 1413 East Irving Blvd in Irving under the direction of Donnelly’s Colonial Funeral Home 606 West Airport Freeway, Irving, Texas 75062.
