Moving back to Wisconsin, the family homesteaded at Johnson Township, Marathon County, Wisconsin. Clara remained on the homestead farm all her life.
On September 20, 1923, Clara married Joseph Pecher at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Milan, Marathon County, Wisconsin; witnesses were John Pecher and Julia Fastner.
