Jean Meister, 81, of Peoria passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at Riverview Senior Living in Peoria.

Jean was born on Aug. 5, 1934, to Arthur L. and Mable (Shelby) Watkins in Bonnie Blue, Va. She married Walter H. "Wuzzy" Meister on Nov. 24, 1962, and he preceded her in death.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Gay Closen of Peoria; her stepchildren, Raymond (Eileen) Meister of Davenport, Iowa, and Renee (Michael) Brown of Louisiana; and her brothers, Vernon (Louise) Watkins and Doyle Watkins of LaFollette, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Charlene, Maxine and Billie June.

Jean worked as a customer service agent for Ozark/TWA Airlines for 34 years and she served as treasurer for the International Association of Machinists.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
