Anna Rodes Lehman, 71, of Mount Crawford, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville due to kidney failure. She had been in failing health for many years.
Mrs. Lehman was born Oct. 5, 1933, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late David M. and Naomi Koogler Rodes.
She was a member of Pike Mennonite Church, where she taught children?s Sunday school for many years.
On Oct. 16, 1956, she married Joseph D. Lehman, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are four children, Leroy F. Lehman of Jetersville, Kenneth R. Lehman of Bridgewater, Alice I. Lehman of Harrisonburg, and Philip D. Lehman of Wrightsville, Pa.; six brothers, John E. Rodes, Aaron M. Rodes and Daniel D. Rodes, all of Mount Crawford, Noah L. Rodes of Port Republic, Joseph O. Rodes of Goshen, Ind., and Adin S. Rodes of Bridgewater; seven sisters, Catherine R. Rodes, Martha R. Burkholder and Ruby A. Rodes, all of Mount Crawford, Ruth R. Groff of Mount Solon, Esther R. Good of Hinton, Iva R. Beachy of Harrisonburg, and Rhoda R. Bennett of Hinton; and 15 grandchildren.
Wade Knicely, Harry Neuenschwander and Eli Slabaugh will conduct the funeral 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Pike Mennonite Church, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening.
