Served with the 349th Bomb Squadron, 100th Bomber Group, Heavy, 8th Air Force. Killed in action when the aircraft piloted by Vermont O Anderson, was hit just after dropping their bombs on Merseburg, Germany. The aircraft was almost completely in flames when it went down.
