Simon Winter, 80, resident of the Mulberry Lutheran Home, died there at 2:30 o'clock Saturday morning of a heart ailment. He had been ill but a short time.

Born in Wayne county, Ohio, while an infant he was taken by his parents to Whitley county, Indiana, where he remained throughout the active years of his life, following the occupation of farming. In 1888 he was married to Elizabeth Graves, who survives. One of a family of twelve children, all his brothers and sisters preceded him in death, as had also a son and daughter.

A funeral service was conducted at the Home by Dr. R. D. Wheadon at 9 o'clock Monday morning, following which the body was taken in the Kleinsmith funeral car to Coesse, Ind., where a second service was held at the Lutheran church at 3 p. m., conducted by a former pastor of the deceased, a Rev. Mr. Bradley of Findley, Ohio.

During his years of residence at the Home, Mr. Winter mingled with the townspeople of Mulberry, among whom he made many friends.
