The daughter of John Christopher Bagby and Elizabeth Courtney Bagby. Priscilla married Joseph Ryland 16 December 1835. She was an active member of Bruington Church, the sister of Minister Richard Hugh Bagby. She was the mother of thirteen children:

John William, Josiah, Susan Elizabeth, Mary Frances, Joanne Bagby, Alice Peachy, James Robert, Joseph, Priscilla Courtney, Ida Rose, Edwin, Alfred Hugh and Harry Lee.
