Born Jan. 19, 1917, in Roanoke to Andrew Jackson and Christina Loercher Rutledge, he married A. Lucille Long on Jan. 15, 1938, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Joan L.) Swearingen of Manito; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Andrew J. of Pekin; and one sister, Mrs. Melvin (Mary E.) Renner of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
An employee of Corn Products Co. in Pekin for 40 years, he worked as an electrician and started the wastewater treatment plant, retiring as a supervisor in the powerhouse in 1977. An avid woodworker, he made and sold birdhouses, bird feeders and squirrel feeders.
A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of the Hill-Palmer American Legion Post 561 in Manito.
He was a member of Empire Lodge 126, AF&AM, in Pekin.
He attended South Pekin Congregational Church in South Pekin.
Cremation will be accorded.
