Evan "Joe" Easter

Joe Easter was born July 2, 1936 in Carter, Oklahoma to Carrie Ann and Charlie Abi Easter. He passed away September 20, 2016 at Edmond, Oklahoma at the age of 80 years, 2 months and 18 days.

After graduation he and wife, Aloha June (Rea) Easter moved to San Bernardino, California where he had a janitorial business. Joe moved back to Elk City, Oklahoma and worked at Howard Manufacturing.

Joe attended Highway School east of Carter, Oklahoma all 12 years graduating in 1956. He celebrated his 60 year reunion with his classmates this past July on his birthday.

In 1972 Joe married his current wife, Diann (Pruet) Easter and they moved to the Walter Merrick Ranch, east of Sayre, Oklahoma where he worked until moving to Gruver, Texas and was involved in irrigation farming. Joe and Diann moved back to Sayre, Oklahoma in 1977 and worked for Dick Maddoux Construction. He later started his own construction business which he operated until his retirement. They moved to the Merritt community in 1990.

Joe loved his OU Sooners and Merritt Oilers and Oileretts. He was thrilled when at their All-sports banquet, Merritt schools presented him with a plaque as the "Fan of the Year" for 2012-2013.

He is survived by his wife, Diann and their son, Dustin Shea & Anna, Elk City, OK, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren; his brother Charles Easter, Elk City, OK, Joe & Aloha June's children, Ricky Joe and wife, Irene, Enid, OK, David Glen, Elk City, OK and Katherine June Easter and Jim, Yukon, OK.
