Father of three children. Spent most of his life farming, peddling produce, and working at Dixie Furniture. He loved to cook pork shoulders for BBQ on an open fire pit with hickory wood. He was a kind, gentle, honest man.
He out-lived his daughter Odessa Leigh Barnes who died at age 7 and his son Coy "Howard" Barnes that died at age 46. Glenn suffered a stroke that left him paralyzed and bedridden for the last couple years of his life. He died at home.
He is survived by a daughter, Doris Barnes Yates of Banner Elk, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
