Rev. Annie Louise Johnson, 94, died Thursday (September 15, 2016) at Clear Creek Nursing and Rehab in Mint Hill, NC after an extended illness.

A native of Sandy Flat, SC, she moved in the 1940s to Waycross where she made her home and lived most of her life before moving to Mint Hill, NC six years ago. She was a Christian Education Director and ordained deacon with the United Methodist Church for over 30 years. Rev. Johnson was a minister and member of First United Methodist Church Waycross.

She is the daughter of the late J. Elmer Clark and Mattie Parker Clark.

Survivors include her husband, B. Morris Johnson of Mint Hill, NC; four children, Lem Johnson (Del) of Milledgeville, GA, David Johnson (Susan) of Mint Hill, NC, Mark Johnson (Amy) of Kissimmee, FL, and Alan Johnson (Trish) of Mooreville, NC; six grandchildren, Beau Johnson (Kristen) of Charleston, SC, Harli Palme (Kevin) of Asheville, NC, Jeremiah Johnson (Allison) of Monroe, NC, Eric Johnson (Terri Lynn) of Atlanta, GA, Alice Williams (Kenny) of Jacksonville, FL, and Andrew Johnson of Asheville, NC; seven great grandchildren, Mattie Clark Palme, Pearl Palme, Vivian Palme, Parker and Sam Johnson, Brooks Johnson, and Micah Williams; one sister, Lillian Cleveland of Traveler's Rest, SC; and 16 nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday (September 18, 2016) at First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First United Methodist Church, 410 Williams St., Waycross, GA 31501, Epworth United Methodist Conference Center or United Methodist Committee on Relief.

Music Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
