Edward Visser was born on April 30, 1905 at Oude Bildtdijk, Netherlands. His parents were Wiebe Visse and Jiskje Wiersma. The Visser family was very probably living just north of the country village of St. Jacobiparochie (Saint Jacob's Parish) at the Oudebildtdijk (Old Bildt's Dyke), located in the extreme northwestern part of the Dutch northern province Friesland. This dyke, which was built in 1505, is some 12.1 km in distance, and it's the longest street with houses in the Netherlands - and the longest dyke with houses in Europe.
Edward married Tena Peters on December 27, 1946 in Edmonton, Alberta. (Tena was born on July 24, 1917 in Uithuizen, Netherlands). Edward died March 17, 1971 in Neerlandia, Alberta and Tena died May 3, 1989 in Neerlandia, Alberta.
