William Robert Goan, 70, died on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at his home. He was born Friday, Sept. 13, 1940 in Chattanooga, the son of the late Frank Bercaw and Bessie Langston Goan. He graduated from Chattanooga Central High School. Mr. Goan retired from the Air Force after twenty years of service and then went to work for the State of Tennessee, working in data processing, for 15 years. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goan was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his wife, Mary K. Goan, of Tullahoma; son, Jay (Jenifer) Goode, of Lebanon, Tenn.; daughter, Elysse (Christopher) Deason, of Springfield, Tenn.; sisters, Grace Fite, of Chattanooga and Joy Goan, of Chattanooga; as well as six grandchildren. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Arrangement are by Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave. NW, Winchester, TN 37398. 931-967-2222 www.moore-cortner.com.
