Lt. Col John F. Goan, of Estill Springs, died December 28 at Harton Regional Medical Center. He was born in Chattanooga and was retired from the U. S. Air Force, a member of the Escape and Evasion Society, Disabled Veterans Association, 8th Air Force Association, and Retired Military Officer's Association. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Goan of Estill Springs; daughter, Linda (and husband, Dr. Remi) Engels of Tullahoma; stepdaughters, Teresa (and husband, Mike) Ervin of Lynchburg and Alice (and husband, Ray) Davis of Estill Springs; sisters, Bonnie Thorton of Nashville, Nellie Wolfe of Chattanooga, Gracie Fite of Chattanooga, and Joy Goan of Chattanooga; brother, William Goan of Unionville; grandchildren, Tyson Williams of Tullahoma and Amanda Williams of Murfreesboro. Service was December 31at Moore-Cortner Chapel with Rev. Danny Payne officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
