Mary wed Thomas Clynch (b. 1880) of Johnstown in Rathmore, Co. Meath, IE on 5 Sep 1917. Mary was 86 at the time of her death. She was an only girl and had five older brothers including Michael Carlon, b. 27 Jan 1875. The name Carolan derives from Ó Cearbhalláin which originated in Counties Cavan and Monaghan before migrating south to County Meath. Variations include: Carolin and Carlin.
