SHANGLE, KERMIT PHILANDER, 93, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at Oaklawn Rehab and Nursing Home. He was a native of Newfield, NY, and born to Nellie Starr and William Shangle on January 30, 1913. He was a retired accountant and paymaster for Del Monte Foods, and a member of Middletown Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Gladys G. Perrin Shangle; sons, Jan Shangle and Jim Shangle (Jean); grandchildren, Carrie Johnson (Richie) and Jon King (Natalie); and great-grandchildren, Lee and Savannah Johnson, and Morgan and Taylor King. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 11, 2006 at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, with entombment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Wayside Christian Mission.
