Jean was born in about 1687, per the 1693 census of Les Mines, Acadia. He is the son of Martin Dupuis and Marie Landry. He married **Marguerite Richard on 1 August 1713, in Port-Royal, Acadie. They are the parents of at least the following (verified with PRDH except * are per the Acadians Project):
