ITHACA - Anne R. (Pachai) Newhart, age 83, formerly of 173 E. King Rd., Ithaca, NY for 47 years, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2002, at the Reconstruction Home. Anne was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Pachai. She was also predeceased by her husband, Richard A. Newhart in 1995; brothers, John, George and Stephen; sisters, Rose, Mary, Peg and Kate.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Judy Newhart; sisters, Elizabeth Oltz, Irene English, Jeanette Phillips and Helen Sheehan; grandchildren, Michael Newhart, Michelle (Stephen) Compagni; great-grandchildren, Cole and Sophia Compagni; several nieces, nephews and the friendships that were developed by her stay at the Reconstruction Home.Anne was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and past member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Newhart enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, especially the Hungarian meals, that will be cherished and greatly missed.Friends are invited to call at the Herson Funeral Home, 110 S. Geneva St., Ithaca, NY on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 from 1 to 2 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Leo Reinhardt will be officiating the services. Committal services will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Immaculate Conception School, 320 W. Buffalo St., Ithaca, NY 14850 in Anne's memory.
