Mrs. Helen Cole Ward, 69, of 402 Parkview, Jonesboro, died Saturday (1-1-2000) at her home. Born in Harrisburg, she was a lifetime resident of the Jonesboro and Harrisburg area. She was a retired beauty operator and worked in her family's business, Ward Television Service. She was a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Ward of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Hannah of Jonesboro; one brother, Wilburn Cole of Harrisburg; two sisters, Ruby Branson of Jonesboro and Pat Hazelwood of West Memphis; and two grandchildren. She was proceded in death by one brother.
Funeral services will be Monday at noon at Emerson Funeral Home's Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Michael Sutton and Rev. Joe VanCleve officiating. Burial will follow in Harrisburg Memorial Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Robert Womack, Jack Richardson, Lavon Crawford, Bill Harris, Roy Seats, Mike Armstrong and Gil Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class of the St. Paul United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women.
Visitation will be from 5 this afternoon until 7 this evening at the funeral home. For lasting memorials the family asks that consideration be given to the St. Paul United Methodist Church.
