He was born May 5, 1911 to Peter and Johanna (Jacobsen) Acklie 3 miles north of Neligh in Antelope county. He was married on Aug. 24, 1935 to Grace Shaw at Elk Point, South Dakota. He was survived by his wife, 2 sons, 7 grandchildren, 4 brothers: William, Elmer both at Norfolk, Lloyd at Madison, Charles at Pierce; 3 sisters: Mrs. Cecelia Brokaw at Plainview, Mrs. Mary Bradshaw at Sioux City, Iowa; Mrs. Bertha McFarland at Portland, Oregon. He was preceded in death by 1 son in infancy, 5 brothers, 2 sisters.
