BALDWYN - Edna Earl Crabb Shackelford, 96, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at the Landmark Nursing Facility in Booneville after an extended illness. She was born Jan. 29, 1908, to the late Dr. J. V. Crabb and Clara Tynes Crabb. She was a member of the Booneville First Baptist Church. She was retired from Prentiss Mfg. in Booneville and had also been a hair dresser for Farrar Beauty Salon in Booneville. In addition to painting, gardening and dewing, she enjoyed crocheting, having made many beautiful table doilies and crocheted bedspreads. In later years she enjoyed sitting in her swing on her porch.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Morris Norton officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery in Prentiss County.

Survivors include her son, Joe Shackelford and his wife, Jeannette, of Baldwyn; her brother, R.L. Crabb and his wife, Ima, of Rienzi; four grandchildren, Matt Shackelford and his wife, Angela, Amy Morris and her husband, mark, Michelle Kennedy and her husband, David, all of Baldwyn, and Dr. Linda Shackelford and her husband, Jesse Belcher, of Houston, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Bradley Jean Shackelford, Josh Stowers and Clara Kennedy, all of Baldwyn, James Taggert of Houston, Texas, and Christy Collier and her husband, John, of Guntown; six stepgreat-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Yvonne Shackelford; two infant sons, James and Johnny Shackelford; one sister, Audrey Trantham; and three brothers, Alton Crabb, Henry Crabb and Humbert Crabb.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.
