He was a former Chief Deputy and had worked in Law Enforcement. He was a Member of Baldwyn First Christian Church. He was a Member of the Baldwyn Masonic Lodge for 48 years, serving as Master in 1962.
Services were Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Tom Thomas and Bro. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial was in Prentiss Memorial Cemetery, Booneville, Miss.
He is survived by his Wife of 53 years, Jeannette Young Shackelford of Baldwyn; three Daughters, Linda Shackelford and Jesse Belcher, of Houston, TX; Amy Morris and Husband, Mark; and Michelle Kennedy and Husband, David, of Baldwyn; a Son, Matt Shackelford and Wife, Angela, of Baldwyn; two Brothers, Linus Shackelford of Jackson; and Dwight Shackelford of CA; GrandChildren, Kimberly, Allred, Bradley, Jean Shackelford, James Taggart, Dawn Belcher, Ashley Belcher, Justin Belcher, Chrisy Collier (John), Josh Stowers (Jayla), Bryan Morris (Brooke), Chris Morris (Summers) and Clara Kennedy; and six Great GrandChldren.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, Linus Shackelford and Edna Crabb Shackelford; two Infant Brothers; and a Sister, Yvonne Shackelford.
Honorary Pallbearers were Members of the Baldwyn Masonic Lodge.
