Cecil Lloyd Bryant, 91, of Morning Sun died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Great River Hospice House in West Burlington.

Born Dec, 18, 1916, in Morning Sun, he was the son of George and Lulu Wolverton Bryant. On Nov. 6, 1941, he married Harriet Eileen Childerhouse in Canton, Mo. She died May 10, 1998.

Mr. Bryant worked at JI Case and as a rural postal carrier, retiring in 1981 after 33 years of service. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a graduate of Morning Sun High School. He was a member of Morning Sun United Methodist Church and Morning Sun American Legion Post. He was a former member of Morning Sun City Council, Morning Sun Fire Department and Lions Club. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonita J. Wilson of Morning Sun and Rebecca J. Nydam of Salt Lake City; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Walter Bryant of Morning Sun; and three sisters, Shirley Haight of Mediapolis, Darlene Dean of Morning Sun and Maxine Hobbs of Mediapolis.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

The funeral for Mr. Bryant will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Morning Sun with the Rev. Kendall Adams officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
