He was born on May 24, 1947 in Blair, Oklahoma to Willard Coy and Oleta (Hardy) Allen. He graduated from Altus High School in 1965 and from Altus Jr. College in 1967.
He also attended Oklahoma University for two years. He served in the Oklahoma National Guard and retired as a Staff Sergeant following a 26 year career. He established Caring Hands Home Health in Blair and operated it for about three years. He then began driving for Jewett Scott Trucking in Mangum, Oklahoma. He has been the dispatcher for Maverick Transportation in Mangum for the past three years. He was of the Pentecostal Faith, enjoyed the outdoors, his pet dogs and spending time with his granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Allen, in 1985. He is survived by his mother Oleta; two sons, Coy Guy Allen of Providence, Rhode Island; John Daniel Allen of Altus, Ok; two sisters, Betty Collier and husband Mike of Altus; Joyce Atchley of Altus; one granddaughter Danielle Allen and several nieces, nephews and friends.
