Mae Elizabeth (Snapp) Malicoat Smith of Speedway died Nov. 8. She was 86. Born Oct. 16, 1920 in Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late David M. and Minnie A. (Walton) Snapp. Mrs. Smith was a production worker for P. R. Mallory Company and had also worked several years as a manager at the Bluebird Cafe and J&H Truckstop.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law Kaaren and Ben Pearson of Indianapolis, Cathy M. and David Harris of Michigan, and Norma Cook of Poland; sons and daughters-in-law Raymond and Helen Malicoat of Florida, John C. and Rosemary Malicoat of Speedway, and William and Debbie Malicoat of New Maysville; a sister and brother-in-law Ruby and Art Duncan of Arizona; another sister, Sandra of Tennessee; brothers and sisters-in-law Robert and Peggy Snapp of Indianapolis, Harold and Thelma Snapp of Arizona, and Lowell and Vera Snapp of Brazil; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her husband, Lawrence Smith; a son, Maurice "Moose" Malicoat; a daughter, Patricia L. Batchelor; and a brother, Kenny Snapp.
Services are 1:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Hays Funeral Home in Coatesville. Interment will follow at Coatesville Cemetery. Calling at the funeral home is 4 to 8 p.m. Nov. 11.
