Patricia L. Batchelor, 58, who resided north of Carbon in Parke County, died at 6:55 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, in St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She had suffered an extended illness.

Born in Indianapolis on March 29, 1947, she was the daughter of Carson Malicoat and Mae (Snapp) Malicoat. She later attended school in Bowling Green when her parents moved to that area. She had worked nine years as an assembler for Mallory Corporation in Greencastle, but had to leave due to poor health.

She was preceded in death by her father and one brother, Maurice "Moose" Malicoat. Surviving are her husband, George A. Batchelor, Sr., two daughters, Lynn Dickey and Della Mae Kidd, both of Brazil; her mother, Mae Malicoat Smith, Speedway; three brothers, John Malicoat, Speedway, Bill Malicoat, New Mayesville and Ray Malicoat, Pamona Park, Florida; three sisters, Norma Cook, Poland, Kaaren Pearson, Indianapolis, and Cathy Harris, Sterling Heights, Michigan; three grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Jay and Gizmo.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in Lawson-Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave., Brazil. Visitation is from noon Saturday until services. Burial will be in the Coatesville Cemetery.
