George O. Boesdorfer, of 1017 W. Monroe St., formerly of near Pleasant Plains, died at 11:10 a.m. yesterday in Memorial hospital where he had been a surgical patient about two weeks. He was 65 years old.
Mr. Boesdorfer was born July 9, 1890 in Petersburg, son of the late John and Anna Louise Ohmberger Boesdorfer.
On Jan. 28, 1920, he was married to Helena Renken. She died March 28, 1949.
Mr. Boesdorfer was a veteran of World War I and a member of Immanuel Lutheran church, Farmingdale, and American Legion post 599, Pleasant Plains.
He was actively engaged in farming near Pleasant Plains for many years.
Surviving are five sons, Elmer W. and John Walter, both of Pleasant Plains; Rolland G., of New Berlin; Clarence L., of Chicago; and Roy H., of Springfield; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Kunz, Mrs. Rosa Janssen, Miss Lucy and Mrs. Clara Schumacher, all of Springfield; five brothers, Herman, of Auburn; William, of Williamsville; John, of Tallula; Henry, of Springfield; and Edward, of Sun Valley, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the residence of a son, Elmer Boesdorfer, of four miles east of Pleasant Plains and at the Farmingdale Lutheran church.
Burial was in Pleasant Plains cemetery.
