Mrs. Flossie M. Carter, 79, was born Jan 4 1893, at Mystic, to Elzie and Melvina Plowman Brown. A resident of Eldon most of her life, she was a member of the Eldon Christian Church.
She married Ralph Carter Feb 19, 1910. He died in 1940. Two children and one grand-daughter also preceded her in death.
Surviving are seven sons, Kenneth, Nicholas, Rex and Arthur, all of Eldon, Thomas of Muscatine, Richard with the navy at Patuxent River, MD. and Ralph of Hacienda Heights, Calif. ; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Starr of Washington, Iowa; Mrs. Francis Bucey of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Bernard Harding of East Moline , Ill.; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, John Brown of Pico, Calif. and Sam Brown of Eldon, and two sisters, Mrs. Francis DeBolt of Whittier, Calif., and Mrs. Thomas Richards of Hacienda Heights.
