Daniel "Dan" Howard Cantonwine went to be with Jesus December 29, 2015, and his beloved wife, Dolores Ethel Cantonwine followed him June 22, 2016. They were both raised in Longmont, Colorado.
Dan was born May 1, 1929, and Dolores November 8, 1930. They met and became friends at the age of 13, and were married March 5, 1949. They were married for 66 wonderful years.
Dan worked very hard even as a young boy to help support his many brothers and sisters. He worked on a dairy farm until he was old enough to join his father and brothers working at the brick factory in Longmont.
After they married, Dan and Dolores moved to Cottage Grove, Ore. where he worked at a lumber mill. In 1954, they moved to Medford, Ore. where Dan worked in White City at another lumber mill and Dolores worked as a telephone operator for Pacific Northwest Bell. Dolores retired after 35 years because she developed rheumatoid arthritis. Dolores was especially proud of her work as a Pink Lady at Rogue Valley Hospital. She worked there until her illness forced to retire.
In the '60s, Dan and Dolores decided to open their own business called Ming of Medford. Daniel eventually retired and they did some traveling. They were both active in their church throughout this time and raised a son and a daughter. They loved spending time with their grandchildren also.
They are survived by their daughter, Dana (Cord) of Shady Cove; son, Devin (Connie) of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Bethel Assembly of God, 4245 Vista Point Dr., Medford, OR.
