BRISTOL - Nell M. (Kumetis) AuCoin of Bristol passed away Friday, Nov. 24, 2006 with her family at her side. Nell was born April 19, 1921, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Tumas) Kumetis. Nell resided in Tolland, Bristol, New Britain and Newington before moving with her family to Newfane, Vt., to renovate a 200-year-old farmhouse. She returned to Connecticut and spent the last 20 years in Bristol. After her graduation from New Britain High School, Nell enjoyed a rewarding professional career at Stanley Works and the American Red Cross. While in Vermont she was employed with the Department of Social Services and the Windham County Board of Education. During WWII, she served as an air raid warden. Nell was an avid and talented artist. Her beautiful wall stenciling, paintings and art projects graced her own home and those of her family and friends. She also enjoyed collecting antiques, tireless shopping, flea markets, old movies and playing bingo with friends. Nell will be remembered for her beauty, her sense of humor, generous nature, caring heart, strong opinions and heartfelt advice. She is survived by her two daughters, Jacqueline McQueeney and her husband, Rob, of Bristol and Aimee Parzych, also of Bristol; her sisters, Anne Stuart and her husband, James, of Colebrook and Phyllis Hansen and her husband, Robert, of Old Saybrook; grandchildren Paul Dailey and his wife, Renee, Evan and Neil Parzych and Madeline McQueeney; great-granddaughter Kylie Dailey; and several nieces and neph-ews. All will dearly miss their "Mimi." Nell was predeceased by two sisters, Ella Trijonis and Elizabeth Bierworth. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Church, Forestville. There will be no calling hours, per Nell's wishes. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain, at the convenience of the family.
